Bulino Engraivng
Bulino like scrimshaw is a very exacting and time consuming process. They are the same in that you typically use some type of magnification but instead of poking dots into a soft material and filling them with ink you make tiny cuts in metal with a very precisely sharpened graver. The shadows created by each tiny cut in the metal are what makes the work visible. Bulino "dots" are much smaller than scrimshawed dots, becasue of this it takes many more dots to make a picture, it can take 3 times as long or more to make an image in bulino vs. scrim.
